Established in 1974, AIT International School was founded within the academic framework by a special agreement with the Thai Ministry of Education. Earlier it was named AIT Child Center which provide quality education to students between the age group of 5 to 12. In 1980,  a group of parents started for students aged between 2.5 to 5 years. Later on, the service expanded and in 1996 it was officially registered as AIT Playschool. A suggestion was recommended to merge the playschool and child center which was approved by AIT President on July 25, 1996. Till 2000 the school was known as AIT Community school which consists of junior school and pre-kindergarten. In 2009, the school was officially using the name AIT International School.
