Al Arqam Academy for Girls was established in 1996 as a private school. It followed the Ministry of Education curriculum and taught English as a foreign language, but due to changes in educational policies and growth in the education sector, the school adopted an international curriculum in 2004. It began to offer the British National Curriculum from KG to Grade 12 but also maintained strong curricula in Arabic and Islamic studies. Currently, the school has around 1,622 students belonging to various nationalities, but the majority are Qataris.
