Zahida Hussain set the groundwork for Al-Furqan Primary School on October 2, 1989; at that time, the group was known as the Muslim Study Group. As a mom herself, Zahida searched for a school where her daughter would be taught alongside the National Curriculum to the highest standards, enabling every student to realise their full potential. With the help of her husband and mother, Muslim Study Group launched on its first day with four kids, ages three to five, among them Zahida's own daughter. Beginning in September 1996, the elementary school, which serves boys and girls ages 4 to 11, was renamed Al-Furqan elementary School, while the senior school, which serves girls ages 11 to 18, was renamed Al-Furqan Community College. Al-Furqan Primary School received grant maintained status and government financial approval on January 9, 1998.
Al-Furqan Primary School goal is fairly straightforward: they want to offer an Islamic environment that is safe, loving, and conducive to learning so that each student can reach their greatest potential. Al-Furqan Primary School upholds the following principles:
Equality between all racial and cultural groups.
Respect towards all religions.
Take care of oneself, other people, animals, and other living things as well as the environment and one's own and other people's belongings.
keeping in mind that they are always responsible to Allah.
Being mindful
These values, according to Al-Furqan, serve as the cornerstone for the five pillars of Islam, which support Islamic belief.
