Alcuin College was formed in 2012 with the goal of creating an effective educational model that emphasises the long-term growth and development of the student. They want their kids to be true lifelong learners who strive to be the best versions of themselves and are motivated by instructors, parents, and experts who are also academically accomplished. Under the attentive and knowledgeable supervision of a master teacher, smaller tutorial groups of students are challenged to think critically, reflect, communicate and write well, and improve their analytical and creative talents. Successful learning is largely dependent on the special and essential relationship between the learner and the teacher.
Every child counts. At Alcuin College, they make an effort to guarantee the safety, acceptance, and respect of every student. They want to provide each of their students the chance to experience the great delight of learning that inspired them to become teachers in the first place. Every kid has some strengths to draw on.
They belong to a group. They are a liberal arts college, which means that while some of their community members are professors and some are students, they are all scholars and will work to assist one another as they learn and study as a group.
Both rigour and individualization are required. When they claim that they provide a challenging education, they really mean that they demand nothing less from each individual student.
Their teachers use technology and access resources in their neighbourhood to provide relevant experiences and continuous, timely, and helpful feedback while assuring a high quality of knowledge and skill-development for their pupils in order to assist them attain that level of effort and achievement.
Technology is essential to how they learn, and Alcuin College encourages its usage in curriculum enhancement and skill development. Students use technology in thoughtful, responsible, and intentional ways.
