Alesco Secondary Collegewas established in the year 2002. It is a secondary school that feels that studying and well-being must go hand in hand for pupils to have the best chance of succeeding. In order to enable students to participate and engage in learning to the fullest extent possible while being gently challenged to reach their potential, Alesco seeks to lower obstacles to education. Alesco Secondary College presently provides instruction for students in Grades 9 through 12.

Since its inception in 2002 with 35 students, the college has expanded to serve over 630 students across seven campuses in the Hunter region and the Mid North Coast, reflecting its growing impact on the community.  The college’s dedication to student well-being is exemplified by its comprehensive Wellbeing Program, which offers long-term strategies for emotional management, ensuring students are well-prepared for life beyond school.  This holistic approach has led to notable student accomplishments, such as Kristal Barlow receiving the Community Education Student of the Year Award from Community Colleges Australia, and Malachi Wright being honored with the Jodie Harrison MP Community Service Award.  Furthermore, Alesco’s commitment to community engagement is evident through various initiatives, including partnerships with local organizations and participation in events like Anti-Poverty Week, aiming to break the cycle of poverty through education.  These achievements highlight Alesco Secondary College’s role in fostering an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
