The building of American community school was formed in the year 1969. After a few years in 1972, the school was officially established with 8 teachers and 50 students. The school performed very well in academics and achieve expansion and diversification. In 1975, the school has developed new facilities including a new classroom, a large library, and a kindergarten. US Ambassador Michael sterner officially dedicated a new school in 1976. In 1985, ACS decided to introduce modern facilities like a science lab, computer lab, gymnasium, 25- meter swimming pool, and art and music center. In 2000 school has achieve heights and opened a new elementary building. In 2020, the school is awarded by international school award for opening an elementary school innovation lab. American community schools will continue to gain excellence in academics, learning, and athletics.

Achievements

The students of ACS are very brilliant in academics. According to the records in 2018, 96% of students applied for a diploma and achieved it. The students who have no option to sit in a full IB diploma program have the option to sit in IB papers like SAT, ACT, and Advanced Placement exams. In 2018, students went to universities in the UK, USA, and Canada.
