School History & Details

This school was established in 1988 under the name of American International School (AIS). Originally it educated students of grades 1-5. In 1990 it expanded to a purpose-built campus and Grade 8. It was accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in 1994. 4 years later in 1998 the school opened its Al Bustan Campus. The expansion of the school continued and in 2007 there was a new Middle School/High School campus established. It was accredited again by NEASC in 2021 and now teaches more than 2,200 students enrolled in KG through to Grade 12.

Non-Academic Achievements

ASD has been awarded Eco-Schools Green Flag on their 30th Anniversary in 2018. The school has also had considerable success over the years in MESAC competition, which is hosted every year by one of the MESAC schools.
