Established in 1956 Anglican High School is a Chinese School. It is established by the Chinese-speaking congregations of the Anglican Churches in Singapore. The school uses Chinese as a medium of instruction. Initially, the school had one principal, three English teachers, three Chinese teachers, and 123 male students. In 1979, the school was selected by the Ministry of Education to be one of the nine schools under its special assistance plan and this selection was based on the consistent academic excellence of the school. The more growth and expansion of its campus the school constructed a new building and Anglican Heritage Center which was opened by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore. The new campus consists of various facilities for the growth and development of the students. Recently, the school was selected as one of the best schools in Singapore to offer a Chinese Language Elective Programme at the Secondary Level.
