The founder of Argyle House School, Mr. Hanna, M.A. Principal, founded the institution in 1884. He handled the school's issues until transferring them to his son James. Following his passing, the school was moved to 12 Thornhill Park by his three daughters. They maintained the school until 1967, when the last sister went away. After then, the school was taken over by their niece, Mrs. Davis, until 1968, when it was listed for sale and eventually bought by Mr. J. N. Johnson. The school was relocated by Mr. Johnson to 19 and 20 Thornhill Park. Mr. Johnson and his wife oversaw a number of modifications at the school.
The Argyle House School has a solid familial foundation. As a result, a very secure and nurturing atmosphere is created, which is frequently mirrored in the family unit.
