The Asian International School (AIS) Al Ruwais was established as a small villa school back in 1988. In 1993 the school earned secondary school status and in 1999 added Grade 11 and Grade 12. In terms of nationalities, followed by the Pakistanis, Egyptians and Jordanians most students are Indians. Followed by the middle school, secondary school and kindergarten the majority of the students are enrolled in the primary stage.
This school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for its educational program. In Grade 10 and Grade 12 the students sit the All India Secondary School Examination to earn secondary and higher secondary certificates. For Arabic, Islamic Education and UAE Social Studies the school also follows the Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum. To a plethora of opportunities for their holistic development the students are exposed.
The school offers a comprehensive extracurricular program aimed to discover the hidden potential of the students besides the rigorous educational program. The academic and non-academic provisions of Asian International Private School are fully supported by the school facilities.
The AIS Al Ruwais is a private and co-educational Indian curriculum school established for families working in the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and also has sister branches in Madinat Al Zayed, Al Dhafra region etc.

From the Asian International School Al Ruwais i.e. from the Science Stream 58 students and from the Commerce Stream 13 students appeared for the Standard XII AISSCE in 2019. The school said that in the Science Stream it had achieved outstanding results with the highest score being 97.8% which in the UAE was also the second highest score and in the Commerce Stream, the topper scored 92.4%. More than 60 students scored 90% and above, and 15 students scoring 95% and above in the AISSE i.e. in the Standard X exams. For the exams all the students who appeared passed them - how many there were though the school does not mention, nor the average score - with the highest being 98.4% etc.

The students of the school have won competitions and awards i.e. the Holy Quran Competition, CEO Contest in Dubai, Road Safety Week By ADNOC, "Think Science" competition-2015, Story Writing Competition “Together towards a Tobacco Free Abu Dhabi” conducted by Health Authority in Abu Dhabi, National Level Competition and Art out of Waste Competition etc.
