On the 23rd of November 2004, the former Education and Training Minister Alan Carpenter revealed plans for a new $23 million secondary school in Atwell, situated at the intersection of Bartram Road and Brenchley Drive. The school was scheduled to commence operations in January 2008 and was intended to serve students from Atwell, Harmony, and Jandakot primary schools. It was anticipated that around 200 students would enroll at the college for the 2008 academic year.
