The Australian International Academy was founded in 1983 in Melbourne. It is the first full-time Islamic school in Australia and has offered an extended commitment to excellence as well as phenomenal growth in all three campuses out of which two are in Sydney and one is in Abu Dhabi. It was in 2020, that both the Sydney campuses merged to become the Australian International Academy of Education.
