Avon House Preparatory School

Application requirements for Avon House Preparatory School are as follows:

First come, first served applies to the nursery spaces. For children entering the school at this level, formal assessments are not conducted; however, they do organise Stay and Play mornings so that families can get to know the school.

For reception: Families can express interest in the second intake into Avon House Preparatory School at Reception by filling out the Registration Form and paying the £100 Registration Fee in advance. A year or so before the child is scheduled to enrol, the parents and prospective student are then invited to a meeting with the head teacher or head of the pre-prep department. During this time, we can start to get to know one another, and the parents can discuss their goals for their child and ask any questions they may have about the school. After this meeting, parents are expected to submit an entry acceptance form and pay a £400 entry acceptance fee before receiving confirmation of their child's reception placement.

Additionally, they offer a 7+ Entry through our 7+ Entrance Exam, which also offers scholarship options. Although students may still be taken into consideration after the designated deadline, their 7+ Entrance Exam is held in the preceding Spring term and the date and specifics are communicated well in advance. One-on-one interviews are conducted with candidates before they take a test that includes math, reading comprehension, and creative writing components. The most successful applicants can also be given consideration for an academic scholarship.
