Bahrain Bayan School (BBS), located in Isa Town, Bahrain, is a non-profit, autonomous, co-educational, bilingual school in Arabic and English that serves students from preschool to grade 12. It is accredited and licensed by the Bahrain Ministry of Education, under Bahrain Government law, and is recognized as an "outstanding" school by The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and the Bahrain Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA). Dr. May Al Otaibi and Kathleen Acher Kaiksow founded BBS in 1982 in response to the island of Bahrain's demand for a multilingual national school. With 40 pupils enrolled in its inaugural year, the school offered students from nursery through kindergarten. The school today has approximately 1000 students. To meet the growing enrolment, BBS relocated to its current location in the educational district of Isa Town, which was granted by Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. College preparatory courses such as the International Baccalaureate program and the American Diploma were introduced to the school's initial class of senior students. BBS received Preschool to Grade 12 accreditation in 1995.
