A coeducational secondary school is located in Hamilton at Baimbridge College. Hamilton High School was established in 1916. In order to become Baimbridge College, it amalgamated with Hamilton Technical School in 1994. The Technical School became the West Campus and the High School the East Campus of the College. The Baimbridge College Junior School was established in 2003 as a result of the closure of Kent Rd Primary, a local elementary school, in 2002. Following extensive community consultation, the Baimbridge College School Council recommended to the Minister of Education at the end of 2016 that Baimbridge College close its junior school and reopen as a year 7–12 institution.
