National Curriculum of Bangladesh
Some patriotic Bangladeshi community members first proposed the concept of creating a school for the children of expatriate Bangladeshi people in Bahrain in 1994. These community members worked closely with the then-ambassador of Bangladesh in Bahrain, H.E. Late Akhtar-ul Alam, to establish Bangladesh School Bahrain. On August 5, 1995, the Ministry of Education in Bahrain gave Bangladesh School Bahrain a permit to operate as a Foreign Private Educational Institution, thanks to Ambassador Alam's strong leadership. Currently, the School teaches both the Bangladesh National Curriculum and the Cambridge International Curriculum through the Board of Education in Dhaka. Bangladesh's National Curriculum is taught from Grade 1 to Grade 12, with the British International Curriculum available as an option from Grade 6 to Grade 10. The Cambridge International Curriculum was implemented in 2009, with classrooms ranging from grades 6 to 10. In 2013, the school began Grade 11 and 12 (Higher Secondary) studies under the Bangladesh National Curriculum. At the moment, the School has roughly 1,000 pupils and 60 academic staff members.
