Banora Point Primary School has been a respected educational establishment in the region for over a century. Originally known as Kurrara Public School in 1893, it was situated on the riverbank at Oxley Cove, requiring children from Chinderah to be ferried across the river to attend classes. The school was reconstructed on Terranora Rd in 1924 before relocating to its present site on Pioneer Pde in 1997, adopting the name Banora Point Primary.
