School History & Details

The Beacon Hill Progress Association petitioned the government in 1929 for a school, but Oxford Falls was the better location, so they opened it soon after. Due to low enrollment, it closed in 1985. Following World War II, Beacon Hill saw a rise in residential property, leading to the opening of a school in 1955, which enrolled 72 students. In 1975, there were 1050 pupils enrolled; however, as these children got older and families shrank, the number of students settled at 400 to 500, where it has remained since 1985. The multipurpose centre opened in 1990, and the library in 1982.
