Bedales School is a co-ed well-known public school that was founded in 1893 by John Haden Badley. The school is situated in the Hampshire, England village of Steep.

    • The idea to create a school that would be very different from the conventional public institutions of his time came from John Badley, the founder of Bedales. There has been a dedication to changing Bedales since it first opened its doors in 1893 in order to best serve each student's educational welfare and happiness. Bedales School continues to uphold these values.

The accomplishments of Bedales School include the number of students who were accepted into some of the world's most prestigious academic and artistic institutions after the publication of the 2022 A Level results, including a number of top music conservatories and art colleges as well as QS World Top 100 universities.

Bedales has received recognition and awards outside of the academic world as well, including the Independent-State School Partnership Award at the 2021 Tes Independent School Awards for its work with The Key student referral unit. Prior to the lockdown, students from The Key visited Bedales Outdoor Work on a weekly basis to participate in projects like woodworking, animal husbandry, pizza baking, and blacksmithing with Bedales staff and students.
