School History & Details

The Bedford School is based Bedfordshire, England. The Bedford School was established during the time of Edward VI thanks to the kindness of Sir William and Dame Alice Harpur. The scholarships and bursaries are a result of their generous land and financial donation, which created The Harpur Trust. The school has undergone constant development and transformation in the centuries that have come after. In 1811, they began allowing boarders, and in 1891, they relocated to the current location. They continued to expand during the course of the 20th century, adding new structures and amenities despite setbacks like the disastrous fire of 1979. The Bedford School is specifically a boys school.

    School Values

Bedford School tries to prepare boys to think critically, behave responsibly, and actively participate in a demanding and changing world. The school puts efforts on three key areas to do this: fostering the inner-young man, maximising his academic potential, and ensuring sustainability over time. Every boy should have made a significant contribution to the neighbourhood, according to the school. Boys get more engaged with the world around them, learn about their community, and develop the skills necessary to be good neighbours through collaborations that benefit both parties.
