Mr. W. Edwards established Beech Hall School in 1926 as a boys' preparatory school. The majority of students boarded. In 1935, a Mr. Hunt took over as the school's trustee. His son-in-law, Mr. Worthington, followed him in 1965. The school was converted into a limited corporation and a charity trust in 1966, but the Hunt-Worthington family kept the freehold. Mr. Fitzgerald was appointed Headmaster in 1982. During his time, Beech Hall underwent changes in trends, becoming coeducational and expanding to incorporate a nursery that is today known as Little Gryphons. Like many prep schools, the school's boarding enrollment decreased in the early 1990s and ended completely at the end of the decade, while its overall student body increased.
Beech Hall School provides parents and their children with a unique and stimulating alternative to larger independent schools by offering a high degree of individualised attention in a stunning setting together with a wide range of educational options. To enable us to give this individualised attention, we try to maintain small class sizes. The values that the school tries to instill in their students are as follows:
Kindness
Respect
Integrity
Ambition
