School History & Details

Belmont School was established as a boys' preparatory school in Blackheath, London, in 1880. Later, the school relocated to Westcott, and finally, in 1957, it moved once more to its current location. The main house is surrounded by 65 acres of woodland and beautiful gardens. The formality and elegance of the home and formal gardens, as well as the freedom of the wooded location, are enjoyed by today's students. In 1991, girls were allowed to enrol in the school, and day boarding and weekly boarding were established in place of the full boarding model. The School held a ceremony dubbed 125 not out to mark its 125th anniversary in 2005.

    School Values

The curriculum and ethos of the Belmont School encourages the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural growth of all students while preparing them for the possibilities and responsibilities they will face in the future. They create children and young people who are well-rounded, self-assured, autonomous, polite, and kind, prepared to face the difficulties that lie ahead and to positively impact the society in which they will participate. Their motive is to promote an atmosphere of openness and trust in which each boarder feels comfortable approaching any member of the community, staff or students and is assured that they will be treated and appreciated individually.
