Benowa State High School (BSHS) was established in 1980 and is situated in the suburb of Benowa in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The school, which is co-educational, is the only state high school in the state electorate of Surfers Paradise. It is located on the land of the Kombumerri people, within the wider Bujalung language nation, recognising Ngarahngwal and Yugambeh.

 Benowa State High School offers a French Immersion programme for students in Years 7 to 10, where they are instructed in four subjects in French: mathematics, French, society & environment, and science. The school has consistently achieved 11 OP1s (Overall Position) annually from 2004 to 2007, positioning it as the top secondary school in the Gold Coast region. Additionally, the school provides a Steiner education Programme to foster independent and "natural" learning in students, and a STEM program to promote excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The school also offers a wide range of subjects, with over 30 options available to students in Years 10, 11, and 12. Furthermore, Benowa State High School groups year 10–12 as senior school, and offers Specialist Mathematics as a subject to year 10 students.

In August 2023, Benowa's Accessible Assessment Team received the prestigious Best Professional Learning Program Award at the Australian Education Awards, underscoring the school’s commitment to inclusive education and innovative practices. Meanwhile, student-athlete Charli showcased exemplary talent in BMX racing by securing an undefeated streak in the AusCycling National series and competing at the UCI BMX Racing World Cup. Additionally, Benowa students excelled in language competitions, achieving top rankings in French, Malay, and Japanese at the state level, highlighting the school’s robust language programs and dedication to holistic student development.
