When the Lochinvar Sisters of St. Joseph accepted the parish pastor Fr. Pierse's invitation to staff the school, Blessed Sacrament was founded in 1950. Fr. Pierse bought a big, historic house on Queen Street to use as a convent. The school began in a room inside the convent and added a class every year after that. The parents were actively involved in supporting the school, which quickly became the parish's centre of attention. The Sisters' committed instruction persisted, and the school was nonetheless run by them until 1983, when Mrs. Kathy Campbell took over as the first lay principal and hired primarily lay personnel. The convent building was renovated in 1991 and dedicated to Fr Phibbs, the parish priest at the time, along with classrooms, a library and offices. A more thorough renovation of the grounds in 1995 contributed to the increased space. The school has kept up its renovations to guarantee that every child in our community receives a modern education fit for the twenty-first century.

High Academic Performance: Students at Blessed Sacrament consistently achieve results well above national and state averages in assessments such as NAPLAN.  Gifted Education: The school is a Newman Selective Gifted Education Program institution, with all teachers trained in gifted education, ensuring tailored support for high-achieving students.

Sports Representation: Students have opportunities to participate in representative sports, progressing from local cluster levels to state representation.  Public Speaking and Debating: Year 5 and 6 students engage in interschool debating competitions, enhancing their communication and critical thinking skills.  Literary Contributions: Year 2 teacher Jesse James Muir authored the children’s book A Spider’s Tale, which has been well-received within the school community.
