 Maureen Hartung serves as the Founder, Executive Director, and Principal of Blue Gum Community School, which was established in 1998 in Canberra. The institution has experienced significant growth and is acknowledged both nationally and internationally for its distinctive, contextualized, and progressive educational methodologies. In 2016, Maureen was honored with the Order of Australia Medal in recognition of her contributions to the field of education. Since appointing Jill in 2019, Maureen has collaborated closely with her to facilitate the opening of a new Blue Gum location in another Australian state.
