Boneo Primary School was established in the year 1873. In the centre of the Mornington Peninsula is a thriving community school called Boneo Primary School. The 350 students that attend the school are drawn from the Boneo, Fingal, Cape Schanck, and St. Andrews Beach community catchment. They provide activities that highlight their lovely surroundings, support each child's health and wellness and their unique requirements, and make sure their students are involved and supported in all subject areas because they nurture and care for their children.

In 2023, the school introduced the Mary Freer Award, honoring a former student who enrolled at the age of three to keep the school operational.
