Bonnyrigg High School was established in 1960 to provide high-quality education to both community and international students. The curriculum of the school is very broad and multifaceted which makes it easier for students of all age groups to understand and learn better. Other than its academic programs, the school also has multiple welfare programmes that help in achieving success.

In the 2023 Higher School Certificate (HSC), the school achieved 69 Band 6 or Band E4 results across various subjects, with 42 unique students attaining these top bands. While there were no state ranks (Top Achievers) that year, these results reflect a solid academic foundation.  In 2020, the school celebrated 20 students who achieved an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 90 and above, highlighting the school’s dedication to fostering high academic standards.
