In 2023, BEEC underwent external validation, a component of the NSW Department of Education’s school excellence framework. The validation panel recognized the centre as excelling in areas such as learning culture, wellbeing, educational leadership, school resources, and management practices.

Non-Academic Achievements

Future Leaders Environment Award: BEEC presents this award to students demonstrating leadership in environmental initiatives. For instance, Ashton Johnson received the award for leading projects like “Project Ozone,” focusing on air pollution education and promoting sustainability through creative plant-growing methods.  Youth Leadership Camps: In collaboration with the Bega Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), BEEC hosts annual camps aimed at educating youth on topics like alcohol and drug awareness, while engaging them in outdoor activities to promote responsible decision-making.  Waste Reduction Initiatives: Through partnerships with local councils, BEEC supports programs that educate students on waste avoidance and recycling, leading to significant reductions in landfill contributions.
