Bradshaw Primary School

Bradshaw Primary School commenced its journey in 1974, catering to students from Preschool to Year 7. In 2014, the institution marked its 40th anniversary with great celebration. To honor this significant milestone, the school logo has been redesigned to reflect and celebrate the rich diversity present within our school community today. As we look forward to the landmark year of 2024, our distinguished institution is proud to commemorate 50 years of providing outstanding education. The newly designed Bradshaw logo features a symbolic representation of the Alice Springs Telegraph Station, highlighting its historical importance. Surrounding the logo, Morse code translates our school’s motto: "Learning is Life." Furthermore, former students may find it fascinating that a time capsule, containing their treasured works, was interred in 1977 at the school's entrance, with plans for its unveiling set for 2027. The name of Bradshaw Primary School pays tribute to the notable Thomas Bradshaw, who held the position of Station and Postmaster at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station from 1899 to 1908. An accomplished writer and photographer, Bradshaw diligently chronicled life in Alice Springs, where he lived with his family. His daughter, Doris, later penned the book "Alice on the Line," which offers a captivating insight into their experiences at the Telegraph Station.
