School History & Details

Breaside Preparatory School has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1950 by Colonel Chater. The school was initially an all-boys institution until Major Hudson took over. From 1973 to 1990, the school was owned and run by the Armstead family, after which a group of parents took over. Despite having an excellent reputation in the local community, Breaside Preparatory School required investment. This is when Asquith Court Schools acquired the institution, resulting in the school becoming co-educational after Beresford Girls School closed down. This opened up new opportunities for Breaside, and the first girls were invited to join. Throughout the years, Breaside Preparatory School has continued to uphold its reputation for providing exceptional education and creating a positive learning environment for all its students. From its beginnings with Colonel Chater to the present day, the school's history is a testament to its dedication to shaping the minds of future generations.
