One being Paul’s (open to KS3, 4 and Sixth Form) and a pop up canteen that Year 9 upwards are able to use. Other than that, we have space for students to sit and eat their own healthy lunch. For August 2024, when we move to our new campus, a cafeteria facility will be available for all students. At DQ students can bring their own lunch or sign up to a preordered catering option. Lunch is primarily eaten in the classes or outdoors. There is no onsite cafeteria.

At BISR we support learning in a wide-range of ways, through Service Learning, Leadership opportunities, Journeys and Activities. These forms of enrichment enhance classroom based learning and provide a holistic education for our students.

At BISR the Learning Support team work under the direction of the SENCo across the Primary and Senior School. The SEN teachers and LSAs work collaboratively with teachers throughout all curriculum areas. Support for learning areas includes academic, social, emotional and student well-being. Referrals are made to the Learning Support team by the class/subject teacher or parent. If a referral is made by the teacher it is mandatory that the reason for the referral is discussed with the parent. No learning assessments will be conducted by the team without parental consent. When a student requires an Individual Education Plan (IEP), targets are set to document the student’s additional support needs and the type of support they require. This may include short-term goals for the student and an explanation of what methods will be used to reach these targets. Student IEPs are reviewed regularly, usually every school term.

Students are expected to wear the school uniform. please see the uniform guide here. The School shop stocks a range of branded school clothing including shirts, jumpers, swimwear, hats, sportswear and House shirts. Uniforms are ordered and purchased online and can then be collected from the campuses your child attends. Other items must be purchased elsewhere.

The school report to parents termly and actively involve parents in their children’s learning. Parent Teacher Conferences/ Student Led Conferences are also held throughout the year and parents have access to a google family account to which all communication is sent. The school's Parent Portal includes useful documents and information.

Yes! Volunteering is one of the many ways parents can support the school and students' learning. Others include work experience, careers fairs, specialist speakers and community events.
