School History & Details

Bukit Batok Secondary School originally opened its doors in 1986, housed on a S$8.2 million complex at the intersection of Bukit Batok West Avenues 3 and 8. Air conditioners were placed in the library, language lab, and computer room of the school in 1988. Chai Chong Yii, Member of Parliament for Bukit Batok SMC, officially opened the school on April 9, of that year. The school was refurbished for S$25.48 million under the PRIME initiative between 2006 and 2008. Members of the School Advisory Committee and parents raised an additional S$661,220 in two years for non-standard features such as an air-conditioned multi-purpose hall and an indoor sports hall viewing gallery.
