School History & Details

In 1973, the Bishop of Bunbury entrusted the management of Bunbury Catholic College to the Catholic Education Commission. This institution emerged from the merger of St Francis Xavier College, operated by the Marist Brothers, and St Joseph's School, run by the Mercy Sisters. The Commission is dedicated to the ongoing development and enhancement of Catholic schools, representing the Catholic community and establishing significant policies. In 2015, a second campus was established in the adjacent suburb of Australind, commonly referred to as the Mercy campus. This name honors the Sisters of Mercy, who were instrumental in the school's founding. The Mercy Campus gained independence in 2020, subsequently evolving into Our Lady of Mercy College.
