Bundalaguah Primary School

Bundalaguah Primary School, situated amidst the agricultural landscape between Maffra and Sale, embodies a strong sense of community. Established in 1872, this small institution has significantly impacted the lives of numerous children and families, becoming a repository of cherished memories. Those currently associated with the school are committed to preserving this legacy and ensuring that all students receive the highest quality educational opportunities. In 1872, Mr. Clark generously allocated a portion of his land to the education department for the establishment of Bundalaguah Primary School. This land remains encircled on three sides by farmland that continues to be managed by Mr. Clark’s descendants.  In 1994, Bundalaguah and Myrtlebank Primary Schools merged, with the Bundalaguah grounds serving as the new location and adopting the uniform colors from Myrtlebank. During this period, the school also benefited from the addition of a new basketball court and the modernization of classrooms. The original brickwork had its render removed, and the initial classroom was restored to its historical condition, earning a heritage registration. In 1995, the current staff room and an annex connecting the classrooms were constructed. By 2003, the office underwent refurbishment and was relocated to a new site. In 2008, a music and drama recreation room was established and inaugurated. That same year, an upgrade to phase 3 power was implemented to accommodate increased electrical demands for computers and air conditioning units. In 2013, the car park was renovated. The following year, a gazebo was constructed near the front gate. The year 2019 was marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, during which the basketball court was resurfaced, and the surrounding fence was removed. In 2022, a Lone Pine tree was planted in collaboration with the Friends of Gallipoli.
