Achievements

Rapid Expansion & Innovative Start Opened in 2023 on a temporary site, the school has swiftly added Year 7–9 and reintroduced Stage 5 classes. It even launched two multicategorical Support Unit classes with dedicated Special Education teachers and SLSOs in 2024. Positive Learning Culture The school embraces four core values—Engaged, Responsible, Compassionate, and Respectful—and integrates them into all aspects of student life, including mandatory behavior contracts in their first week. Strong Focus on Wellbeing & Equity Receiving substantial equity funding (over $171k in 2024), Bungendore protects inclusive learning, especially for Aboriginal students and those with disabilities. Programs include language support, one-on-one tutoring, Crew wellbeing sessions, and strong community connections. Impressive NAPLAN Progress The school reported improvements in literacy and numeracy from 2023 to 2024, particularly in Year 7 numeracy and Year 8 reading. Their self-assessment via the NSW School Excellence Framework shows they are moving from “Working Towards” to “Delivering” across multiple domains.

Community & Cultural Projects Engagements include a Crew-led intergenerational storytelling project with local seniors, Anzac participation, and awareness events like Wear It Purple, NAIDOC Week, and R U OK? Day. Supportive Wellbeing Program The “We are Crew” team promotes resilience, positive behavior, and ensures every student is connected and supported. Strong Community Involvement As a founding partner of the Weereewaa Community of Schools, it collaborates closely with nearby primary schools (Bungendore, Sutton, Gundaroo) and engages parents, local groups, and community organizations.
