Application requirements for Bute House Preparatory School for Girls are as follows:

1. The Reception class accepts students via ballot, which is drawn two years before the year of enrollment. The Chair of Governors, along with the Head, Registrar, and a representative from the school's audit firm, draws names from a hat for the 22–24 openings. The Chair draws a name from a ballot box after placing the names of all the registered girls there.

2. In order to register your daughter for entry into Year 3, you must first submit a completed registration form, a registration fee of £100, and a copy of your daughter's birth certificate to the school's registrar. These may be delivered to at any time through October 31 of the year prior to entrance. The second step is to complete a 7+ Assessment Confirmation Form and send the assessment fee (£125) by October 31 in order to confirm her as a candidate and reserve a spot at the Assessment.
