Bwgcolman Community School is a National Partnership Pre-Prep–12 institution situated on the tropical Palm Island, approximately 65 kilometers north-northwest of Townsville within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. In 1993, the school adopted its current name from Palm Island State School to more accurately represent the significant role the community plays in the education of its children. The motto '2 Way Strong' emphasizes the importance of students engaging with the global community while simultaneously preserving their cultural identity and strength rooted in Palm Island traditions.
