The Calvary Lutheran Congregation in Morphett Vale recognised the need for Christian education in the southern area and took the initiative to establish Calvary Lutheran Primary School in 1983. 36 students and three faculty members made up the initial enrolment, which was housed in merely two temporary facilities that were bought used. With 200 pupils, Calvary had expanded to a single streamed Reception to Year 7 school by 1992. The school has been expanding since 2010, and in 2015 it started a construction project to create a Junior Primary Learning Community. The school now boasts cutting-edge, flexible learning areas for their youngest students which was partially sponsored by the Commonwealth Government through the Block Grant Authority.
The goal of Calvary Lutheran Primary School is to foster wholesome relationships founded on honesty, respect, and trust. Students at Calvary learn alongside one another in a safe, nurturing, and ambitious academic and spiritual atmosphere that starts them on the path to lifelong learning.
The school's motto, REACH for success, lays the groundwork for students to take charge of their own education.
