Canbury School, established by Mr. John Wyatt in 1982, traces its roots back to the recognition of a gap in the education sector. Before founding the school, Wyatt had a vast teaching background in diverse day and boarding schools in England and the US. Wyatt championed parental rights in choosing the appropriate educational path for their children. His belief in small, inclusive educational institutions drove him to acquire the original residence of Sir Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald and transform it into a school. It opened its doors in September 1982 with an initial cohort of just five students. Canbury School has since grown, with a current capacity of 75 students, and gained its charity status in 1990.
