School History & Details

Located in the suburban area of Cannon Hill, the school was established on land traditionally belonging to the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples, on a site that a survey conducted in 1910 described as densely forested. The school commenced operations on August 16, 1915, with an enrollment of 253 students and a staff of seven. At the time of its construction, it was regarded as the most sophisticated architectural design available. This design continues to offer an aesthetically pleasing and functional educational environment, which has been adapted to include 21st-century learning spaces that support modern teaching methodologies. Students in Years 5 and 6 utilize their personal laptops for educational activities both at school and at home.
