Caravonica State School was officially inaugurated in June 1927. During its inaugural year, the school had thirty-six students enrolled, with an average attendance of eighteen. At one point in its history, the institution proudly had seven sets of twins among its students. The opening event received media coverage in the southern regions and was broadcast on ABC television. Initially, the entire school was housed in a single room, and the original building remains a prominent feature of our school grounds today. Current students attending classes in A Block, which is situated closest to the basketball courts, are learning in this historic structure. In the early years, most students either walked to school or rode their horses. It was not until 1950 that the school acquired its first bus, a small Bedford truck equipped with a canvas canopy over the tray back. This service was operated by Ernie Warren and provided transportation from the Northern Beaches.
