Carey Baptist Grammar School was established in 1923 as a day and boarding school for boys, initially with the backing of the Baptist Union of Victoria. Our institution bears the name of Rev. Dr. William Carey, a Baptist missionary and self-taught linguist who devoted a significant portion of his life to aid work in 18th-century India. His dedication to learning, faith, and life of service form the foundation of the School's current philosophy.
The ideals of growth, respect, and caring are the cornerstones of who they want their students to be. Carey Baptist Grammar School promote inclusivity, empathy, and resilience within these values, as well as the growth of courage, curiosity, imagination, and teamwork both inside and outside of the classroom. The principles are not limited to the student body; all employees are urged to live up to these ideals in all facets of their employment and in their daily interactions with students, parents, and coworkers.
