School History & Details

The institution was founded in 1975 as a high school serving students from Year 8 to Year 10. In 1983, the inaugural group of Year 11 students was admitted, leading to the school's designation as John Willcock Senior High School. In 1997, the school merged with Geraldton Senior College and was subsequently referred to as Geraldton Secondary College (Highbury Campus). By 2003, the institution underwent another name change to John Willcock College, accommodating students from Year 8 to Year 9, with the majority progressing to the senior college after graduation. In 2019, the school was rebranded and initiated the transition to a comprehensive six-year high school, planning to introduce a new year group annually over the next three years.
