Charles David Bloom donated the land for Charles Bloom Secondary School in Lumby. Lumby High School, which opened on April 20, 1950, was the school's original name. Charles Bloom Secondary was given a new name in honor of Charles Bloom, a local school board member for over 20 years. Charles Bloom Secondary School is a rural Grade 7 – 12 school in Lumby, British Columbia, Canada.
