School History & Details

The institution currently known as Chase Grammar School has a long history, stretching back to the year 1879. At that time, it was founded by the Sisters of the Holy Rosary and was known as the Convent School. A century after its establishment, a decision was made to widen the age range of the student body to include those between 11 to 16 years of age, which led to the school's expansion. The parents of the students played a crucial role in facilitating this growth. With these changes came a new name, and the school was renamed Lyncroft House School. The school experienced another major shift in the year 1996 when it was taken over by new management. This new administration decided to steer the school in a more international direction. Consequently, they began offering courses catered towards international students. They also established the school as a boarding school. These initiatives garnered significant international attention, and students from various parts of the world started enrolling in Lyncroft House School. As such, the school was not only seen as a center for education but also as a major international study hub. The year 2019 was of particular significance as it marked the school's 140th anniversary. To celebrate this monumental milestone, the students were invited to participate in designing a special crest. This unique emblem was named Chase 140 and the best design, chosen from many submissions, is depicted below. Furthermore, to commemorate 140 years of history, the school administrators launched a new leadership program. The primary goal of this initiative was to groom students to spearhead the next era in Chase Grammar School's history, fostering in them the leadership skills they would need in the years to come.
