Chiang Mai International School

Chiang Mai International School (CMIS), conveniently located in the city of Chiang Mai, delivers high-quality education in an ideal social and cultural atmosphere. Since 1954, CMIS has assisted in meeting the educational needs of the international community in northern Thailand. CMIS will be celebrating its 70th year of educational achievement in a few years. The school provides an English-language education with American content presented from an international viewpoint. Their highly qualified teachers deliver learning-centered education that is connected with a standards-based curriculum. Academically challenging Advanced Placement (AP) courses given in high school help students prepare for admission to world-class universities and colleges. After WWII, missionaries who returned to work with the Church of Christ in Thailand (CCT) built a school for their children in Chiang Mai.  On June 1, 1954, eight pupils began classes.  Construction on the current facility for the "Chiang Mai Children's Centre" began in 1958.  As more expatriate families arrived in Chiang Mai in search of an English-language education for their children, the number of students increased.
