Situated on the site of a historic Shaker hamlet, Darrow is the only school in the country. In 1965, the Mount Lebanon Shaker Society received the designation of National Historic Landmark. It is an environment of unmatched beauty and historical significance that influences the lives of all who reside here and learn here, helping to shape the character of our institution. The skill, beauty, and understated style of the buildings where we work, live, and play are remnants of the Shaker architectural ethos.
