On July 14, 1994, DPS Jhakri's foundation was officially laid. The school was founded with 221 pupils enrolled, 12 teachers, and up to class VII. Mr. Vinod Sharma served as the headmaster at this time. There were 25 students in the inaugural class X batch that graduated in 1996–1997.
