In January 1892, Derby High School moved to The Field from Oxford Villas, a semi-detached home in Osmaston Road. The idea of transferring the school to its current location in Hillsway, Littleover then known as Hilltop was discussed in 1955. The structure was bought, but extensive modifications were required and were complicated by a fire at The Field. In January 2022, Derby High School celebrated its 130th birthday.
