Djarragun College

Djarragun College is an outstanding educational institution for Indigenous students, with an aim to be the premier Indigenous College in Australia for its mixed-gender student body, from Prep to Year 12. It also provides boarding for approximately one-third of its students. The college, which was founded in 1994, accommodates students from distant communities throughout Cape York, the Torres Strait Islands, Yarrabah, Cairns and surrounding areas, and even nationwide. Djarragun strives to uphold the Agenda by assuring each student reaches their highest potential, cultivating their self-assurance and capability for diligent work, so they can move between their home communities and mainstream society and experience the advantages of both. The college's mission of 'no student left behind, no student held back' is paired with the high anticipation that every student will graduate with options for university, further education, or work.
